Summary: The Assistant Psychologist role in Oxford involves working closely with individuals in the criminal justice system, providing psychological assessments and interventions under the supervision of qualified psychologists. This position is part of a collaborative initiative between the National Probation Service and St Andrew's Healthcare, focusing on mental health treatment requirements. The role requires a relevant Master's degree in psychology or equivalent experience and is primarily based in a probation office in Oxford.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and enhance psychological care for clients within the Criminal Justice System.
- Provide psychological assessments and interventions under supervision.
- Work independently according to plans agreed with supervising psychologists.
- Facilitate communication with various agencies to ensure continuity of care.
- Travel outside of Oxford for training and other responsibilities as required.
Key Skills:
- Relevant Master's degree in psychology or equivalent work experience.
- Eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with various agencies.
- Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
