Key Responsibilities:

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our specialist 0–5s CAMHS Service, supporting infants, young children, and their families across Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster (KCW) This is an exciting opportunity to work within a team focused on early intervention, parent-child relationships, and contributing to improved mental health outcomes for 0-5s. We work across community settings, we are co-located in 5 Family Hubs across KCW and also work from our clinical base in K&C CAMHS. The service aims to provide an accessible, destigmatising, culturally sensitive infant/young child mental health perspective through: consultation to parents and professionals specialist assessment 6 session brief work with Under 5s and their families, using evidence-based treatment interagency partnership working training The post holder will support clinicians in delivering evidence-based interventions and service development initiatives. The post holder will collate data, report on ROMS and prepare training materials and support clinicians to deliver training.

Working for our organisation The Inner under 5s team uses a psychodynamic model to support young children and their carers. The team is based in the Kensington and Chelsea CAMHS clinic as it is part of the larger CAMHS families, which is comprised of psychotherapists, Psychologists, Behaviour Analysts, Psychiatrists, CBT practitioners, DBT practitioners, Nurses and Art Psychotherapists.

Person specification Education/ Qualifications Essential criteria A Degree Eligibility to apply for a postgraduate qualification in psychodynamic or psychoanalytic psychotherapy Desirable criteria Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice and/or research design and analysis.

Experience Essential criteria Working in a healthcare setting Experience of working with people with mental health problems and/or other disabilities as an honorary psychotherapist or psychologist Experience of using psychological assessments, formulations, risk assessments and care planning Experience of working with people who have to potential to become aggressive and being able to respond appropriately Experience of MDT working and the voluntary sector Desirable criteria Experience of working with secondary care mental health service. Experience of working with people who are suicidal.

Skills/ Abilities Essential criteria High level communication skills (written and verbal) including an ability to communicate and work in settings in which the atmosphere may be highly emotive.
