Summary: The Assistant Project Manager (APM) plays a crucial role in supporting the Project Manager in the management and coordination of a capital infrastructure project in Glasgow. This position involves strategic planning, risk management, and quality control throughout the project lifecycle, requiring a solid understanding of project management principles. The APM is responsible for ensuring compliance with client processes and maintaining relationships with the supply chain while monitoring financial performance and preparing reports for stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the PM in the management and administration of the contract.
- Assist in managing financial performance of projects to control expenditure against approved budgets.
- Undertake project assurance and gateway reviews to evaluate progress and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with all agreed Client processes and operating procedures.
- Maintain productive relationships with the supply chain throughout the contract execution.
- Review and critique duration and cost estimates for project activities.
- Monitor financial performance and prepare reports for stakeholders.
- Obtain estimates for costs of activities, events, and overheads.
Key Skills:
- NEC awareness.
- Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience.
- Engineering technical qualifications or project management qualifications.
