Summary: The Assistant Project Manager (APM) plays a crucial role in supporting the Project Manager in the management and coordination of a capital infrastructure project in Glasgow. This hybrid position requires effective communication with stakeholders and a proactive approach to problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle. The APM will assist in strategic planning, risk management, and quality control, ensuring successful project execution. A strong understanding of project management principles and the ability to adapt to changes is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the PM in the management and administration of the contract.
- Manage financial performance of projects to control expenditure against approved budgets.
- Undertake project assurance and gateway reviews to evaluate progress and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with Client processes and operating procedures.
- Monitor performance of the organisation and supply chain regarding contractual obligations.
- Maintain productive relationships with the supply chain throughout the contract execution.
- Review and critique duration and cost estimates for project activities.
- Monitor financial performance and prepare reports for stakeholders.
- Obtain estimates for costs of activities and apply metrics to identify cost trends.
- Review proposed changes and assess their impact on the project.
Key Skills:
- NEC awareness.
- Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience.
- Engineering technical qualifications or project management qualifications.
- NEC PM accreditation (desirable).
- Membership of a relevant professional body (desirable).
- M&E background (desirable).
- Educated to degree level.
- Attained APM PMQ or greater.
