The Energy team at WMG are undertaking research programmes investigating lithium-ion technology innovation (current collector, battery recycling)), which fits with activities in 'Electrochemical Science', 'Energy Storage', 'Manufacturing the Future' and ‘Resource Efficiency’. A very exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented research fellow to join the Warwick Electrochemical Engineering Team. You would apply your proven experiences, integrate activities with the research team, and learn about the industrialisation aspects of lithium-ion batteries. You would focus on developing scientific innovation in lithium-ion batteries, specifically pursuing a competitive position in academic excellence with industry relevance. You will work with industry and academic stakeholders in the UK and globally across several industrial programmes.

About You

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of existing lithium-ion battery technologies in terms of component production, device manufacturing, and recycling processes. The successful candidate will have technical and research experience in the science and technology of lithium-ion batteries, including a good honour degree in a relevant subject and a PhD in a relevant discipline. You will also be expected to have a strong publication record in the lithium-ion batteries area. We are looking for passionate candidates driven by applied research based on strong fundamental research outcomes and driven by working at the interface of academia and industry. PhD Status

If you are near submission of your PhD, or have not yet had it conferred, any offers of employment will be made at Research Assistant level, at the highest spinal point of pay grade 5 (£34,610 per annum). Upon receipt of evidence confirming the successful award of your PhD, you will be promoted to Research Fellow , at the lowest spinal point of grade 6 (£35,608 per annum).
