Candour Productions are looking for an experienced ASSISTANT PRODUCER to join our team on a 12 x 60 documentary series.

This is a fast-turnaround, story-led production focused on uncovering and developing compelling stories.

We're looking for a resourceful, proactive AP with strong journalistic instincts, excellent research skills, and the confidence to uncover and pursue great stories.

You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, be adaptable to changing priorities, and bring energy, humour and a can-do approach to a busy production.

Some of the subject matter we are working with is sensitive and can be upsetting at times.

We're looking for someone who is comfortable working on challenging stories and able to approach contributors and subject matter with professionalism, empathy and sound editorial judgement.

Candour is committed to supporting staff wellbeing.

Editorial guidance, regular check-ins and access to wellbeing support will be available throughout the production, and we actively encourage open conversations about workload and welfare.

This role will be working from our Leeds office.

ASSISTANT PRODUCER

We're looking for an experienced, ambitious AP to make a meaningful editorial contribution to a fast-moving production.

Working closely with the Story Producer and wider team, you'll play a key role in identifying and developing stories, researching contributors and providing editorial support across all stages of production.

Required Skills & Experience

  • AP credits on at least three factual singles or series
  • Demonstrable experience finding, researching and developing strong stories and contributors
  • Excellent journalistic skills, including source-building, verification and fact-checking
  • Confidence conducting in-depth research and producing clear, accurate briefing notes
  • Experience securing access, supporting shoot set-ups and managing logistics
  • Strong editorial judgement and attention to detail
  • Resourceful, adaptable and able to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment
  • Comfortable working with sensitive and potentially distressing subject matter
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Casting experience for specific briefs desirable
