Summary: The Assistant Mechanical Technician role involves supporting the maintenance team in servicing, repairing, and overhauling railway components to meet production targets. Key Responsibilities:
- Service, maintain, repair and overhaul traction and rolling stock components to the designated maintenance exam standard
- Carry out cleaning and labouring duties for all areas of the workshop and vehicles
- Operate fuel line and depot equipment
- Drive and operate cranes and road vehicles if a valid license is held
- Ensure all work is carried out to defined quality and safety standards
- Assist with special projects and additional tasks specified by depot management
Key Skills:
- Previous mechanical or engineering background would be desirable
- A NVQ in a related mechanical, electrical or engineering discipline would be desirable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work all shifts and be flexible
- Live within 45 minutes of Nottingham
- Be able to drive, own your own vehicle and have a full UK license
