Summary: The Assistant Mechanical Technician role involves supporting the maintenance team in servicing, repairing, and overhauling railway components to meet production targets. Key Responsibilities:

• Service, maintain, repair and overhaul traction and rolling stock components to the designated maintenance exam standard
• Carry out cleaning and labouring duties for all areas of the workshop and vehicles
• Operate fuel line and depot equipment
• Drive and operate cranes and road vehicles if a valid license is held
• Ensure all work is carried out to defined quality and safety standards
• Assist with special projects and additional tasks specified by depot management

Key Skills:

• Previous mechanical or engineering background would be desirable
• A NVQ in a related mechanical, electrical or engineering discipline would be desirable
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work all shifts and be flexible
• Live within 45 minutes of Nottingham
• Be able to drive, own your own vehicle and have a full UK license
