Summary: The role of Assistant Management Accountant involves supporting experienced Management Accountants within a collaborative finance team at a leading distribution specialist in Leeds. This position is ideal for an ambitious finance professional currently studying towards a CIMA or ACCA qualification, offering hands-on experience and the opportunity to take ownership of site accounts. The successful candidate will engage in end-to-end accounting, business partnering, and strategic support while developing their skills in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Producing fully reconciled monthly and year-end P&L and Balance Sheets.
- Liaising directly with depot managers and commercial teams to provide financial input and investigate queries.
- Assisting with central finance projects including vehicle leasing, utilities, and Capex analysis.
- Coordinating with both internal and external auditors to ensure financial integrity.
- Working closely with non-financial staff to influence and enhance overall business performance.
Key Skills:
- Currently pursuing a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA).
- Previous experience in the preparation and interpretation of management accounts is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, specifically with Pivot Tables and Lookups.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders.

We are partnering with a world-class distribution specialist to find a motivated Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team based in Leeds.

The Role
Working within a collaborative head office team, you will initially support experienced Management Accountants across multiple high-turnover sites. As you develop, you will take sole ownership of your own site's accounts, becoming a key financial partner to the wider business.
