Summary: The Assistant Management Accountant role is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Sunderland, offering a hybrid working arrangement. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the finance system, ensuring accurate coding and project costing
- Verify and post journals as required
- Calculate and post income and expenditure accruals and prepayments
- Prepare quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis
- Conduct income reconciliation and analysis
- Ensure revenue recognition aligns with accounting standards
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly management accounts
- Support the finance team in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts
- Collaborate with business managers to identify sustainable cost-saving opportunities
- Review supplier contracts and recommend renewals or alternatives
- Prepare reports to assess the financial performance of ongoing projects
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in a similar finance or accounting role
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
