Summary: The Assistant Management Accountant role is a maternity cover position based in Sunderland, offering a hybrid working arrangement. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the finance system, ensuring accurate coding and project costing
  • Verify and post journals as required
  • Calculate and post income and expenditure accruals and prepayments
  • Prepare quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis
  • Conduct income reconciliation and analysis
  • Ensure revenue recognition aligns with accounting standards
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly management accounts
  • Support the finance team in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts
  • Collaborate with business managers to identify sustainable cost-saving opportunities
  • Review supplier contracts and recommend renewals or alternatives
  • Prepare reports to assess the financial performance of ongoing projects

  • Proven experience in a similar finance or accounting role
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
