Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting month-end processes, including posting and reviewing journals such as accruals, prepayments and reallocations
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts and monitoring monthly spend against budget
  • Investigating variances and providing insightful financial analysis
  • Managing payroll-related accounting, including payroll journals, reconciliations and reporting
  • Ensuring accurate processing of pension and benefit transactions, and liaising with HR and relevant external bodies
  • Providing finance business partnering support to internal departments, attending meetings and advising on budgets and forecasts
  • Contributing to continuous improvement, including enhancing reporting, systems development and process automation.

Key Skills:

  • Actively studying towards a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or similar (ideal)
  • Experience in financial analysis and management accounting
  • Understanding of NHS finance (desirable)
  • Experience in payroll finance (desirable)
  • Strong spreadsheet, data analysis and presentation skills
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational and communication abilities
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement.

Role: Assistant Management Accountant
Type: Temp up to 3 months
Salary: Band 4 to 5: £33,100 to £45,400 (subject to experience)
Remote or Hybrid: 1 to 2 days a week onsite
