Summary: The Assistant Management Accountant will play a vital role in a small finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. This position involves preparing management accounts, financial forecasts, and supporting the overall financial performance monitoring and reporting. The role also includes assisting with audits, budgeting, and various financial analyses to ensure compliance and efficiency within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts for review, including analysis of key ledger items, accruals, and prepayments journals.
- Prepare month-end reconciliations covering all balance sheet items for authorization.
- Assist with the production of various periodic reports for landlords as required by sustainability agreements.
- Support the Finance Manager with the annual audit process, working closely with auditors to ensure deliverables are met and timelines adhered to.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting, liaising with colleagues to obtain relevant information.
- Support the wider Finance team with bank, sales ledger, purchase ledger, and rent accounting postings.
- Assist with ad-hoc requests for financial analysis from the Finance Manager and other colleagues.
- Support with utility contract renewal and maintain an up-to-date register of all supplies.
- Assist with the calculation of rent schedule charges for all properties based on Board approved uplift amounts.
- Assist with service charge reconciliations for all properties to ensure proper recording of under/over recoveries.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Act in accordance with the organization’s values at all times.
Key Skills:
- Experience in management accounting or similar finance roles.
