A leading Further Education provider is seeking an experienced Interim Assistant Head of Department to support the leadership of its Supported Learning provision.
This role will play a key part in ensuring learners with SEND and additional support needs receive an outstanding educational experience and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Learning Support Mentors and support teams
- Support the delivery of high-quality SEND and Additional Learning Support provision
- Monitor learner progress and EHCP outcomes
- Drive quality improvement activities and support curriculum teams
- Work closely with Local Authorities and external stakeholders
- Ensure effective use of support resources and staffing
- Promote inclusive practice across the department
Essential Requirements
- Previous leadership experience within Further Education
- Significant SEND / High Needs / Additional Learning Support experience
- Strong knowledge of EHCP processes
- Experience managing teams
- Ability to drive improvements in learner outcomes and quality standards
- Teaching qualification and relevant educational background desirable
