Summary: The Assistant Financial Controller role in Manchester is focused on supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes within a global technology client. The position requires managing financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and stakeholder communication across multiple entities. An immediate start is available for this 12-month contract. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting in line with US GAAP, IFRS, and SOX requirements
  • Manage variance analysis and reporting for multiple entities
  • Support statutory, tax, and audit requirements
  • Work closely with finance teams, auditors, and external stakeholders
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Assist with budgeting and financial planning activities

Key Skills:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or similar
  • Professional qualification preferred (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA)
  • 5-8 years' finance/accounting experience
  • Experience in a multinational or Big 4 environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and SOX
  • Good stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong Excel and financial systems experience (SAP preferred)
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Fluent English required
  • International travel may be required
