Summary: The role of Assistant Finance Systems Accountant at NHS Resolution involves managing and configuring finance internal systems, particularly Business Central and Webexpenses. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and configure finance internal systems, including Business Central and Webexpenses.
  • Train internal stakeholders on finance processes and serve as the first point of contact for system-related issues.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the Claims system, CaseHub, and its integration with Business Central.
  • Support the Finance team in maximizing the capabilities of the finance system and ensuring effective controls are in place.
  • Develop and maintain reporting using Power BI integrated with Business Central.
  • Develop and deliver finance processes across the organization as required.

Key Skills:

  • Qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, ICAS, or equivalent experience).
  • Relevant project management qualification or experience (e.g., Prince2 practitioner desirable).
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and financial software.
  • Strong understanding of databases, data uploads, extraction, and interfaces with systems like Power BI and SQL.
  • Experience in business improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma desirable).
  • Immediate availability or short notice period preferred.

Are you looking for a new challenge where you can really make an impact in a varied and busy role? You will be contributing to a key programme of work and developing business as usual finance processes and procedures. The opportunity NHS Resolution is looking for a Systems Accountant on a 6 months fixed term contract basis to look after our Finance internal systems which will include configuring and maintaining them. You will be working with Business Central (the Finance accounting system), Webexpenses, (the Expense Claim system) and all related applications and software. You will be responsible for ensuring that the systems configuration is fit for purpose and in particular for making sure the integration with other systems run smoothly. You will be training internal stakeholders on Finance processes and be the first point of contact for system-related issues. You will also participate in the continuous improvement of our new Claims system, CaseHub, and integration with Business Central. This is a significant programme of work that will be continuing for some time after the first “go live” in June 2025. You will be working closely with the Finance & Systems Controller and the Finance System Accountant to update and document all finance processes and training both finance and non-finance staff on key processes within these. As well as reviewing functionality within Business Central to reduce reliance on the external software support contractor.

What You’ll Be Doing Supporting the Finance team and working with the Financial & Systems Controller to ensure efficient use of our finance system, maximising the capabilities of the system, and ensuring effective controls are in place and monitored. Secondary contact between finance team, IT team and systems suppliers Developing and maintaining the finance system Business Central (BC) and the development of reporting using Power BI to integrate with BC. Liaising with all finance members to ensure efficient use of the system. Developing and delivering on finance processes (e.g., purchase orders) across the organisation as required.

What You'll Bring Qualified accountant i.e., ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA CIPFA, ICAS and Chartered Accountants Ireland or equivalent relevant experience in a financial accountancy environment. Relevant project management qualification e.g., Prince2 practitioner, or equivalent project management experience is desirable but not essential Excellent IT skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office packages including excel, outlook, word and various financial software packages. High degree of speed and accuracy required. Good understanding of databases, data uploads, extraction, and interfaces with other systems such as Power BI and or SQL functionality Qualification or equivalent experience in business improvement methodology e.g., Lean Six Sigma is also desirable Ideally you will be immediately available or on a short notice period to start a new role.
