Summary: The Assistant Finance Manager role involves managing financial inputs and performance data for Iceland, ensuring timely updates and accurate reporting. The position requires monitoring depot fuel usage, fleet costs, and third-party logistics expenses, while supporting the Finance Manager in various financial reporting tasks. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely receipt and updating of performance and financial inputs on Iceland’s systems.
- Monitor and manage depot fuel usage, fleet costs, and mileage records.
- Oversee third-party storage stock levels, transport costs, and inter-depot transfer costs.
- Support the production of weekly and period cost reporting and depot balance sheet reviews.
- Understand and monitor the performance of third-party logistics providers in data accuracy and timeliness.
- Update weekly financial performance data and assist in producing cost reports.
- Monitor and report on third-party storage and haulage costs.
- Develop reporting to understand depot vehicle fleet usage.
- Assist in producing period accounts, budgets, and forecasts.
- Support reviews of depot charges and balance sheets, including site visits.
- Maintain proper cost records for strategic projects.
- Provide general support and cover for others in the Supply Chain Commercial function.
Key Skills:
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with databases and SQL is an advantage.
- Familiarity with SAP or other accounting packages.
- Strong attention to detail and an enquiring mindset.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Confidence in communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Logistics and/or general accounting experience is advantageous.
