Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting and assisting with take-offs and scheduling of materials and packages from drawings and specifications
- Managing and supporting procurement processes, including issuing enquiries, tender analysis, and placing orders
- Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve best value
- Liaising with design teams to manage design changes and update material schedules
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and timely delivery
- Supporting cost reporting, budgeting, and forecasting within the commercial team
- Identifying alternative suppliers and materials to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Key Skills:
- Experience working as an Assistant Buyer or Buyer within residential construction or housebuilding
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, material sourcing, and supply chain management
- Good commercial awareness with strong organisational and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Previous experience with a residential developer or housebuilder is highly desirable
