Summary: Halliday Marx is seeking an Assistant Accountant for a small, fast-growing hospitality business in South West London. The role requires immediate availability and involves responsibilities such as bank reconciliations, month-end close, and financial analysis. Key Responsibilities:
- Month-end close including accruals, prepayments and journals
- Revenue and cost analysis across multiple sites
- Bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
- Cashflow forecasting and working capital management
- Support with year-end and liaising with external accountants
- VAT returns and compliance
- Improving processes, controls and reporting where needed
- Ad-hoc financial analysis to support operational decision-making
Key Skills:
- Immediately available (or on very short notice)
- Sage experience
- Bank reconciliation experience
- Experience within hospitality, retail or a multi-site SME highly desirable
- Strong Excel skills
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, small-business environment
