Key Responsibilities:
- Keeping all ledgers up to date each day - posting sales invoices, credit notes, receipts and journals
- Handling weekly payment runs, supplier expenses, credit cards, staff expenses and petty cash
- Owning key reconciliations across multiple currencies, including bank, purchase statements, petty cash and intercompany
- Updating credit control reports, liaising with customers on payment dates and supporting debt meetings
- Producing and issuing weekly reports - sales, order book, trading packs, stock reports
- Supporting month end with accruals, prepayments and control account work
- Helping with quarterly and annual audits and covering for colleagues when needed
Key Skills:
- Experience in a hands on transactional role such as an Assistant Accountant
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working across several finance systems
- Accuracy, organisation and the ability to keep things moving without being chased
- AAT would be useful, but solid experience and a steady approach matter just as much
- The ability to switch between routine tasks and unexpected queries without losing your stride
