Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct VAT reconciliation and credit control.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with financial procedures.

Key Skills:

  • IATI qualified or part-qualified with a recognized accountancy body (ACCA, CIMA, ICAI, ICAEW).
  • At least two years' recent experience in a finance environment.
  • Strong experience in management accounts, including prepayments, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Solid background in purchase ledger and supplier payments.
  • Experience processing weekly payroll and understanding payroll and pension legislation.
  • Proficiency in VAT reconciliation and returns.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Central/NAV, Pegasus Opera Payroll, or EPOS reconciliation is advantageous.

Your new role
As Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function, working closely with the Finance Manager and wider team. You'll be responsible for preparing departmental and hospitality management accounts, processing weekly payroll, and maintaining both purchase and sales ledgers. This is a varied and hands-on role that also includes VAT reconciliation, credit control, and supporting the month-end close and audit processes. You'll also collaborate with other departments to ensure financial procedures are followed and reporting is accurate and timely.What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you'll need to be IATI qualified or part-qualified with a recognised accountancy body (ACCA, CIMA, ICAI, ICAEW) and have at least two years' recent experience in a finance environment. You should have:

  • Strong experience in management accounts, including prepayments, accruals, and reconciliations.
