Asset Accountant

Summary: The Asset Accountant role at Hutcheon Mearns involves providing financial support for joint venture asset matters within an E&P company on a hybrid basis. The position requires participation in monthly accounting, joint venture billings, and year-end audits, along with compliance and reporting responsibilities. The role is designed for individuals with experience in joint venture accounting, offering flexible working hours and a competitive day rate. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, as no sponsorship is available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Finance Business Partner with monthly accounting for asset matters, including Opex, Capex & Abex.
• Prepare and issue joint venture billings, ensuring compliance with joint operating agreements.
• Participate in year-end statutory audits by providing necessary information.
• Monthly reporting of actuals and in-year forecasts for all assets, including income statements and abandonment expenditure.
• Attend and participate in operator committee meetings and FinComs on behalf of the company.
• Provide support for joint venture audits as operator and for non-operated assets.
• Ensure compliance with the AFE process, including maintenance of the AFE register.
• Provide additional business support to satisfy all JOA finance requirements.
• Assist with transition matters related to asset acquisitions and integration into reporting.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations for all assigned balances.

Key Skills:

• Previous experience in joint venture accounting within an E&P or service company.
• Part qualified, qualified, or qualified by experience in accounting.
• Experience with SAP S4 is an advantage.
• Strong accounting knowledge.
• Motivated and comfortable in a fast-paced, growing environment.
