About The Job

The Serious Economic Organised Crime and International Directorate (SEOCID) Business Centre is responsible for a range of key business areas, supporting and delivering a professional business service including HR, Performance Management, Finance, Communications, Public Accountability and Inclusion, Change and Assurance.

As an area finance manager, you will be a key member of the finance team, bringing clarity to complex data and systems, making sense of the numbers for colleagues and senior managers alike. You will take pride in your attention to detail and have a natural interest in translating financial information into insights others can understand and act on. You will be responsible for overseeing key financial processes and systems, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and efficiency. With line management responsibility, you will support and develop team members while maintaining high standards and delivering results.

The Crown Prosecution Service is based in England and Wales. Job Description

You will ensure that local financial controls are understood and applied by senior managers and other relevant individuals. In partnership with HQ Finance, you will ensure the delivery of appropriate training and direction in finance, budgeting, purchasing and fraud prevention. You will ensure compliance with national CPS policies and external guidance and lead assurance activity to check that controls are in place and being acted on, escalating as appropriate. In partnership with senior managers, you will develop efficiency plans detailing strategies and activities to enable the Area to remain within budget for the duration of the financial year and overall Spending Review period. You will proactively provide advice, assistance and support to the ASB and business managers in the management of their budgets, business cases, capital bids and financial systems, ensuring that there is full compliance with the national guidance, systems, processes and procedures and financial implications of decisions are properly considered.
