Our large team provides a comprehensive range of services and areas of specialist expertise so there are plenty of people to learn from as your career in archaeology progresses.If you re new to commercial archaeology, working at Archaeology South-East will provide you with the training needed and opportunities to develop your skills and experience within a supportive team environment.About The RoleWe are currently recruiting for projects running from our office in Portslade, Brighton and we have several new projects starting, most significantly an opportunity to work on the long running excavation of an extensive Roman settlement site in West Sussex. We require additional field archaeologists to excavate and record archaeological features and deposits and collect artefacts and samples. There are opportunities for immediate starts with minimum initial contract length of 12 months and with excellent prospects for contract extensions as work progresses. Whilst we have local work coming up, staff are sometimes required to undertake stay away work.About YouYou are likely to have a degree in Archaeology (or a related discipline) and some fieldwork experience that may include some time working on development-led projects, but if not, we will provide all the training you need. We are particularly keen on recruiting staff based on the West Sussex coast and preference will be given to those based locally. Holding a driving license and being willing to drive for work is also highly desirable.Please provide a clear statement in response to each of the selection criteria, which shows how your qualifications, experience and training fit each of them.
