Summary: The AR & Revenue Accountant plays a crucial role in supporting the revenue and receivables function by ensuring accurate execution and data integrity in revenue recognition and accounts receivable processes. This position involves close collaboration with the AR & Revenue Subline Leader to maintain operational accuracy and documentation discipline while developing an understanding of business context and US GAAP principles. The role is essential for the efficient operation of the revenue function within a multi-market automotive distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day revenue accounting activities in accordance with established revenue recognition policies.
- Support verification of revenue recognition for vehicle sales across UK, EU, US, and China-related export scenarios.
- Assist in revenue cut-off checks and period-end reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Support end-to-end AR processes, including invoicing, AR reconciliation, and aging analysis.
- Monitor customer balances and assist in identifying overdue or unusual items.
- Ensure AR records are accurate and consistently maintained.
- Assist in validating revenue data and underlying numbers used for internal KPIs.
- Perform checks between accounting records and relevant business data.
- Support preparation of revenue-related analyses and schedules.
- Support review of sales contracts and commercial documentation from an accounting execution perspective.
- Extract and summarise key terms relevant to revenue recognition and invoicing.
- Highlight inconsistencies, missing information, or potential issues for further assessment by the Subline Leader.
- Support month-end close activities related to AR and revenue.
- Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
- Ensure working papers are complete, traceable, and audit-ready.

Working closely with the AR & Revenue Subline Leader, this role focuses on operational accuracy, transaction validation and documentation discipline , while progressively developing the ability to understand business context and revenue recognition principles under US GAAP . The role is designed as a key support position to enable the revenue function to operate efficiently and reliably in a multi-market automotive distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Revenue Recognition Support
- Perform day-to-day revenue accounting activities in accordance with established revenue recognition policies

- Sales returns and revenue adjustments
- Assist in revenue cut-off checks and period-end reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Accounts Receivable Execution
- Support end-to-end AR processes, including:
- Invoicing

- Monitor customer balances and assist in identifying overdue or unusual items
