Summary: The role of Approved Electrician involves traveling across Scotland to perform electrical inspection, testing, and remedial works, primarily in commercial and industrial environments. The position is mainly site-based, with a standard workweek of Monday to Friday and potential for overtime during shutdown periods. Candidates must possess relevant qualifications and experience in electrical installation and testing. An ASAP start is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct electrical inspection and testing to BS7671 standards.
- Perform emergency lighting and equipment testing.
- Carry out remedial works based on inspection findings.
- Adhere to client scopes and safety procedures.
- Travel daily to client sites using a van provided by the employer.
Key Skills:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (preferred but not mandatory).
- 18th Edition (BS7671) certification.
- AM2 (or equivalent full apprenticeship route).
- ECS Card.
- Strong experience in fixed wire inspection & testing in commercial/industrial environments.
- Positive attitude and ability to work independently.
- First Aid qualification.
- Asbestos Awareness certificate.
- Clear Basic DBS check within the last 3 months.

Job descriptionLooking for an Approved Electrician based around Glasgow / Edinburgh, this role involves travelling to field locations across Scotland, carrying out inspection, testing and remedial works to help us meet demand.
Mainly site-based, Monday–Friday, with occasional weekend work during shutdown periods. Overtime highly likely as the client aims to maximise production. Travel across Southwest England. Monday to Friday, with the potential for overtime depending on workload and weekend requirements.
The role will Include:
- Hotels booked if staying away, with breakfast and £25 evening meal allowance.
- £27 p/h
- Van and fuel card provided.
- All PPE and specialist tools supplied.
- Direct-to-site roles.
Pay: 37 hours standard, plus overtime as required. ASAP start
The Work Includes:
- Electrical inspection and testing to BS7671 standards
- Emergency lighting and equipment testing
- Remedial works based on inspection findings
- Working to client scopes and safety procedures
- Daily van-based travel directly to client sites
