Summary: The Application Support Consultant role involves providing expert support for Front Office trading systems within a high-pressure environment, specifically for the EMEA and Middle East regions. The position requires a strong background in production support, particularly in cash equities trading systems, and entails direct interaction with traders during critical incidents. The consultant will also engage in root cause analysis and collaborate with global teams to ensure swift service restoration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Front Office production support for trading systems across EMEA and Middle East regions
- Support cash equities trading systems (primary focus), with exposure to other asset classes where applicable
- Act as a first-line responder in time-critical production incidents
- Monitor and manage live trading environments using tools such as ITRS (or similar monitoring platforms), Splunk, Dynatrace (or equivalent observability tools)
- Perform Real Time incident triage, investigation, and resolution
- Work directly with traders and Front Office stakeholders during live issues
- Ensure end-to-end ownership of incidents, from identification through to resolution and post-incident follow-up
- Participate in and drive root cause analysis (RCA) where required
- Coordinate with global technology and infrastructure teams to restore service quickly
- Act as a deputy for regional support leadership in the Middle East, supporting consistency, direction, and execution standards
Key Skills:
- 5+ years' experience in production support, ideally within financial markets or trading environments
- Strong understanding of cash equities trading systems (preferred), with exposure to other asset classes beneficial
- Proven experience supporting trading systems in high-pressure, time-critical environments
- Strong working knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as ITRS, Splunk, Dynatrace (or equivalent tools - familiarity with one or more is sufficient)
- Scripting ability (eg Python or Bash) is a plus but not essential
