Summary: Insight Global is seeking an Application Support Engineer for a financial services client in London. The role involves providing full-stack application support, troubleshooting, and database management, with a focus on AWS services. This position is an Inside IR35 contract requiring onsite presence twice a week. The engineer will collaborate with development teams and assist users with technical issues related to financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review system health dashboards and logs to ensure all services are running smoothly.
  • Respond to and troubleshoot issues reported by users or automated monitoring systems.
  • Apply patches and updates to applications and databases to ensure security and stability.
  • Assist users with technical issues related to the financial systems.
  • Work closely with development teams to understand new features and changes.
  • Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, indexing, and performance tuning.

Insight Global is hiring an Application Support Engineer for a financial services client based in London. This is an Inside IR35 contract to hire and is onsite 2x a week in London.

Must Haves:

  • Technical Skills:
    • Hands on experience in Production/Application Support
    • Full Stack Support experience - C#.net, SQL Development, Angular
    • Proficiency for application troubleshooting and support.
    • Strong SQL skills for database management and query optimization.
    • Experience with AWS services for cloud management and deployment.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Morning Check-In: Review system health dashboards and logs to ensure all services are running smoothly. Address any overnight alerts or incidents reported by monitoring tools.
  • Incident Management: Respond to and troubleshoot issues reported by users or automated monitoring systems. Perform root cause analysis and implement fixes to resolve incidents promptly. Document incidents and resolutions for future reference.
  • System Maintenance: Apply patches and updates to applications and databases to ensure security and stability. Monitor performance metrics and optimize system performance as needed.
  • User Support: Assist users with technical issues related to the financial systems. Provide guidance and training to users on system functionalities and best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to understand new features and changes. Coordinate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of systems.
  • Database Management: Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, indexing, and performance tuning. Write and optimize SQL queries to support application functionality and reporting needs.
  • AWS Management: Monitor and manage AWS resources, ensuring cost-effective and efficient use. Implement and maintain AWS security best practices.
  • Project Participation: Participate in project meetings to provide insights from a support perspective. Assist in the deployment of new applications and features.
  • End-of-Day Review: Summarize daily activities and report any unresolved issues to the team. Plan for the next day's tasks and priorities.
