Key Responsibilities
1. Application & Infrastructure Support (?1/3 of role)
? Manage and monitor application servers (primarily Wildfly, but transferable experience with JBoss/WebLogic acceptable).
? Perform Tier 3 support for production issues, including server performance (CPU, memory, network traffic) and security certificate renewals.
? Troubleshoot issues through SQL queries to assess impact, validate fixes, and confirm resolution.
? Recommend platform enhancements and participate in infrastructure upgrade discussions.
2. Integrations Management (?1/3 of role)
? Understand and map application-to-application and vendor integrations across pharmacy systems.
? Act as the connector between vendors, internal IT teams, and business stakeholders to resolve integration failures.
? Support new client onboarding by understanding data structures and facilitating data migration (not hands-on ETL, but able to design or guide solutions).
? Propose interim solutions when vendors cannot deliver immediate fixes.
3. Application Operations & ITSM (?1/3 of role)
? Operate within ITSM frameworks: incident, problem, change, and disaster recovery management.
? Ensure monitoring, logging, and documentation are consistently followed.
? Collaborate with internal security, infrastructure, and vendor teams to maintain compliance (HIPAA and related standards).
4. Collaboration & Communication
? Serve as a senior SME and escalation point for pharmacy application operations.
? Communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders about root causes, impacts, and resolution timelines.
? Coordinate effectively across vendors, infrastructure teams, and InfoSec groups.
Required Skills & Experience
? 8+ years supporting enterprise-scale applications, preferably Java-based (Wildfly/JBoss/WebLogic) with SQL Server backend.
? Strong SQL query skills for troubleshooting and validation (not DBA-level, but confident in queries and analysis).
? Demonstrated expertise in application integrations, troubleshooting data flows, and vendor coordination.
? Familiarity with security best practices: certificates, encryption, access controls, patching.
? Strong knowledge of ITSM frameworks (incident/change/problem).
? Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills across business and technical groups.
Preferred Skills
? Admin-level familiarity with Windows Server environments.
? Basic ability to guide end users/desktop engineers when application-linked issues occur.
? Healthcare or pharmacy domain knowledge (central fill, PBM, home delivery) is a plus, but not required. Must be able to learn the business context quickly.
Soft Skills
? Strategic thinker able to connect technical issues to business impact.
? Resilient and agile in high-pressure situations with frequent context switching.
? Self-starter who can propose solutions and engage the right people to execute.
