Summary: The role of Applications/Solutions Architect involves working on a significant greenfield project for a large organization near Swindon. The architect will collaborate with various workstreams to develop architecture designs in an Azure microservices environment, supporting customers with D365. The position requires a minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience and offers an outside IR35 contract. Initial on-site work will be required 1-2 days per week, decreasing as familiarity with the project increases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop architecture designs for a bespoke Azure microservices environment supporting D365.
• Research and develop a microservices roadmap, including technology choices and high-level designs (HLDs).
• Collaborate with the Digital design community to define business requirements and with Engineering teams for delivery and deployment.
• Support Solutions Architect in developing plans and HLDs for wider estates, including payments and learning management systems.

Key Skills:

• Cloud-centric experience, particularly with Azure Cloud and serverless components (API Management, Functions, CosmosDB, Dataverse).
• Knowledge of messaging patterns (event-driven, message-based, REST API) for microservices.
• Understanding of workflows, rules/decision engines, and integration with Microsoft decisioning platforms.
• Experience with integrations involving third-party systems and vendor RFPs.
• Ability to develop architectural standards and blueprints.
• Experience transitioning from a monolithic to a microservices architecture using a strangler-fig pattern.
