Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy and manage Akamai security solutions, including WAF, CDN, Bot Management, and API Security
- Configure and optimise security controls such as rate limiting, reputation-based rules, and custom policies
- Analyse traffic, logs, and alerts to identify threats and anomalies
- Support incident response for web-based attacks
- Collaborate with security, network, and application teams
- Build dashboards and monitoring using tools such as Grafana
- Establish traffic baselines and fine-tune detection thresholds
- Support onboarding of applications into Akamai platforms
- Maintain documentation and contribute to security best practices
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Akamai security technologies (Kona Site Defender, WAF, CDN)
- Solid understanding of web security principles, including DDoS protection, bot mitigation, and API security
- Experience analysing HTTP/S traffic and security logs
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS)
- Ability to balance security and performance optimisation
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana is desirable
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
