Summary: An experienced Application Developer is sought to join a large-scale delivery programme supporting critical business applications. The role requires strong Java expertise and the ability to work independently within a mature enterprise environment. The developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting Java-based applications while providing application support and mentoring other developers. Active SC Clearance is mandatory for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and support Java based business applications.
- Provide fourth line application support, including root cause analysis of live incidents and defects.
- Assess and implement changes raised through formal change proposals.
- Maintain and review HLD, LLD, and component test documentation.
- Carry out code reviews and mentor other developers, including offshore teams.
- Support test, pilot, migration, and rollout activities across ongoing projects.
Key Skills:
- Three to four years minimum Java development experience.
- Strong experience with Maven, XML, SQL, and Java IDEs such as Eclipse.
- Experience with version control systems such as Subversion.
- Ability to work on large and complex code bases.
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Linux, scripting, Atlassian tools, or modelling tools is beneficial.
