Summary: The Application Developer at Sembcorp Energy UK plays a crucial role in modernizing and enhancing the company's application portfolio, which supports key business processes. This position involves developing bespoke applications, migrating legacy systems to a cloud-first solution, and ensuring robust application support and monitoring. Key Responsibilities:
- Refine and simplify application infrastructure and improve clarity of processes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Develop application monitoring and implement appropriate alerting systems.
- Manage and maintain data repositories for operational data across Flex and Wilton businesses.
- Develop software architecture maps for business clarity.
- Create and deploy reporting suites for improved visibility on applications.
- Provide out-of-hours support for Digital & Technology systems.
- Manage and maintain Wilton’s application services.
- Ensure access to data and promote skills development within the organization.
- Migrate key Wilton applications to the cloud and archive redundant applications.
- Identify data sources across Wilton’s Asset base and centralize them.
- Enhance the change control application for transparency in changes made.
- Work with performance engineering to maintain an accurate data repository.
- Develop APIs to improve application development efficiency.
Key Skills:
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or comparable industry certification.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in application development and support across multiple teams.
- Excellent documentation skills and process mapping abilities.
- Agile experience.
- Knowledge in cloud computing and visualization tools.
- Proficiency in .Net, Powershell, Python.
- Strong SQL knowledge.
- Experience with Visual Basic and Classic ASP (desirable but not essential).
- Familiarity with Azure Logic apps and Power Apps (desirable but not essential).
- Knowledge of GE’s Historian product (desirable).
- Team Lead experience (desirable).
