Summary: The Application Architect role involves producing architectural visions and designs for Cards & Payment systems, coordinating impact assessments, and ensuring compliance with bank standards. The position requires strong relationship management with senior stakeholders and a deep understanding of API architecture and service-oriented design principles. The architect will also oversee project governance and drive enterprise-wide technical solutions to delivery. Key Responsibilities:
- Production of architectural visions and end-to-end designs for Cards & Payment, Application integration, Acquiring and Issuing.
- Co-ordination of impact assessment activities for proposed solutions.
- Stewardship for one or more capabilities/technologies, setting ongoing roadmap and direction.
- Project governance in terms of conforming to architectural standards and strategy.
- Develop and maintain constructive relationships with senior business stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain peer relationships with CTO and other Transaction Cycle architects.
- Strong understanding of applications and API architecture, including RAML, SOAP, etc.
- Exposure to Service Oriented Architecture design principles and web services implementation.

- Significant and proven experience in real-world architecture and defining enterprise-wide technical solutions.
- Experience with an application background and understanding of API architecture.
- Experience in architecting end-to-end solutions including software/application architecture and integration.
- Experience of migrating from traditional on-premises architecture to cloud-based solutions.
- Competence in executing substantial IT delivery programmes from inception through delivery.
- Solution architect and enterprise architect training and certification, e.g. TOGAF or BCS.
- Knowledge of Java / Java Enterprise.
