Summary: The Appian Lead is responsible for the design and development of Appian applications, providing technical leadership and mentorship to developers. This role involves collaboration with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions, conducting code reviews, and participating in testing and deployment processes. The position also emphasizes innovation and project management, ensuring adherence to best practices and performance management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of Appian applications including process models, user interfaces, integrations, and custom components.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Appian developers ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, and other technical teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, security, and scalability of Appian applications.
  • Participate in testing, debugging, and deployment of Appian solutions including performance optimization and automation.
  • Troubleshoot post-production issues and identify areas for improvement in Appian applications.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for Appian applications.
  • Drive innovation in Appian by exploring new technologies and methodologies.
  • Lead projects and run workshops to break down epics into stories.
  • Perform impact analysis, application development, and performance management.

Key Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Appian platform and its capabilities including process modeling, SAIL interfaces, and integrations.
  • Experience with database concepts and SQL.
  • Knowledge of Agile or Waterfall software development methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience with Appian deployment and performance management.
  • Ability to work with and mentor junior developers.
  • Understanding of best practices for designing and developing Appian applications.
