Summary: The Apigee Java Developer role is a 2-month contract position focused on designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade APIs using Apigee Edge or Apigee X. The position requires strong hands-on experience in Java and RESTful services, with a hybrid working arrangement that includes 2-3 days per week on-site in Knutsford. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure API performance and security while troubleshooting issues as they arise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement RESTful APIs using Java (Spring Boot, JAX-RS, Hibernate).
- Develop API proxies, policies, and shared flows in Apigee.
- Integrate Back End microservices with Apigee API Gateway.
- Ensure API security using OAuth2, JWT, API Keys, etc.
- Monitor and optimize API performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for API life cycle management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve API-related issues.
- Document API designs, configurations, and development processes.
Key Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
- Ideally 2+ years of hands-on experience with Apigee Edge or Apigee X.
- Experience with API security standards (OAuth, JWT).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins).
- Good understanding of JSON, XML, and HTTP/HTTPS protocols.
- Experience with Postman, Splunk, and other API testing/troubleshooting tools.

We are seeking a skilled Apigee Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade APIs using Apigee Edge or Apigee X. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Java, RESTful services, and API gateway solutions.
