Summary: The API Designer role is focused on delivering effective solution designs within the Open Banking Center of Excellence, emphasizing API design and security. The position involves leading the design of end-to-end API solutions, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with strategic architecture principles. The designer will also contribute to solution planning and review technical outputs to maintain design integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective solution designs for API and API Security within the Open Banking COE.
- Design end-to-end API solutions to meet business needs.
- Contribute to overall solution planning and estimation processes.
- Define best practices in the API space and highlight areas for improvement.
- Produce design artefacts independently or as part of a team.
- Engage with stakeholders in workshops to achieve desired outcomes.
- Present to the Customer's Architecture Review Board as necessary.
- Ensure solutions align with strategic architecture principles.
- Review designs and code from technical teams for alignment with overall design.
- Support the delivery lead in breaking down solutions for iterative delivery.
- Review requirements and monitor change requests for solution design fitness.
Key Skills:
- Expertise in API design and API security.
- Experience in solution design within a banking or financial services context.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to produce design artefacts and documentation.
- Knowledge of industry best practices in API development.
