Summary: The API Automation Engineer role is focused on enhancing the testing processes for Rest APIs within a leading banking client in London. The position requires strong expertise in Java and cloud technologies, with a hybrid working model of two days on-site each week. The ideal candidate will have experience in automation testing and familiarity with financial services. This role is classified as inside IR35 and will be conducted via an umbrella company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Rest API automation testing using Java.
- Utilize Java libraries and frameworks such as Lombok and Spring Boot.
- Perform stub testing with tools like yaml, wiremock, or Mockito, and SOAP API testing.
- Implement programming languages in OOP, specifically Java or C#.
- Employ tools such as Cucumber Gherkin, Postman, and Junit.
- Integrate CI/CD processes with Gitlab/Jenkins.
- Manage version control using Gitlab/GitHub.
- Utilize JIRA or similar issue tracking systems.
- Apply Agile methodologies and BDD methods.
- Leverage experience in the banking/financial services domain.
Key Skills:
- Rest API automation testing in Java.

This role will be Via Umbrella.
