Summary: The AP Process & Automation Expert will collaborate with the Accounts Payable (AP) team to enhance automation, efficiency, and cultural transformation within a high-volume retail environment. This role requires a proactive problem-solver who can identify automation opportunities and implement solutions while fostering strong relationships with team members. The position is a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential for permanence, based in North London on a hybrid working model. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in AP processes and automation technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Embed yourself in the day-to-day operations of a 14-person AP team to understand and evaluate existing processes
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort through automation, RPA, or AI-led solutions
- Lead and deliver process improvement initiatives that genuinely improve efficiency
- Build strong, positive relationships with the AP team and bring them along the change journey
- Work closely with the AP leadership to ensure alignment on priorities
- Deliver measurable improvements that reduce workload and improve invoice throughput
Key Skills:
- Solid hands-on experience in Accounts Payable and finance process automation - experience of RPA/Automation/AI automation critical
- Background in BAU AP operations/processes ideal
- Strong communication skills a must - able to challenge and influence in a supportive, non-threatening way and bring the business along for the journey
- Background in Shared Services (SSC) environments strongly preferred
- Proven experience implementing automation, RPA or AI across business processes
- Curious mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- Able to work daily with AP teams while taking strategic direction from leadership
- Oracle Fusion experience is ideal, but not essential
- Must be excited to roll up sleeves and work in the detail - not just map processes

£70,000-£75,000
Hybrid: 3 days per week in North London
