Summary: The Analytical Development Scientist will enhance manufacturing processes through analytical expertise, focusing on both new and existing products. This role involves collaboration with various partners to deliver insights, manage chemical analyses, and mentor other scientists. The position is critical for driving advancements in agricultural solutions while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. It is a 9-month contract within the Process Technology department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver analytical insights for process development and manufacturing support.
  • Stay ahead of scientific advancements and apply new opportunities to project work.
  • Plan, manage, and conduct non-routine chemical and physical analysis, supporting the development of innovative processes.
  • Provide laboratory expertise in Analytical Chemistry to global teams under the guidance of the Specialist Team Leader.
  • Mentor and develop other scientists in analytical techniques and best practices.
  • Foster safe working environments in collaboration with the Departmental Safety Leadership teams.
  • Ensure compliance with site, company, and regulatory requirements.

Key Skills:

  • A degree (BSc, MSc, or equivalent) in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry, with proven experience in analytical method development.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of chemical and physical analytical techniques, including LC, GC, MS, NMR, FTIR, SEM, EDS, and PSD.
  • Strong background in data analysis, method development, calibration, validation, and technical transfer.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to creatively analyse diverse situations and implement effective solutions.
  • Analytical Expertise: Proficient in laboratory skills, including advanced techniques in separation and spectroscopic methods.
  • Data Analysis: Strong statistical and experimental design capabilities to support method development.
  • Communication: Ability to convey complex information clearly to various audiences, both verbally and in writing.
  • Networking: Build and maintain constructive relationships across teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Time Management: Exceptional organisational skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
