The role involves performing stress analysis on composite and metallic structures and utilizing FEA tools to support structural design. The role is based in Bristol with a hybrid working arrangement of three days on-site per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform stress analysis on composite and metallic structures, including strength, stiffness, buckling, and damage tolerance.
  • Utilize FEA tools like Nastran/Patran and Simcenter 3D to support structural design of components such as wingboxes and load interfaces.
  • Produce detailed technical documentation, including stress reports and certification justifications.

Key Skills:

  • Strong background in stress analysis, ideally in aerospace.
  • Proficiency in classical methods and FEA tools (Nastran/Patran, Simcenter 3D).
  • Solid understanding of composite and metallic structures.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse design data (interfaces, dimensions, materials, assemblies, tolerances).
