Summary: The role of Senior Business Analyst & Business Analyst focuses on a transformation programme aimed at harmonising AML/CFT standards across the EU. Candidates will be instrumental in interpreting regulatory requirements, conducting gap analyses, and collaborating with various teams to implement necessary changes. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to significant regulatory advancements in financial crime prevention. The role is based in Manchester, UK, and involves a contract position with a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and interpret new AML regulatory requirements, focusing on enhanced due diligence and customer due diligence processes.
  • Ensure beneficial ownership transparency and integration with central registers.
  • Manage data and reporting obligations under the AML Regulation.
  • Conduct gap analysis and impact assessments across various business units.
  • Translate regulatory requirements into functional and technical specifications.
  • Map current versus target state processes and design innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively with Compliance, Risk, Technology, and Operations teams.
  • Support governance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
  • Prepare test cases and assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) execution.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and traceability throughout the project life cycle.

Key Skills:

  • For Senior Business Analyst: 8+ years' experience in Business Analysis within financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of AML/CFT regulations, ideally including EU directives (AMLD5/6).
  • Proven track record in regulatory change programmes.
  • Expertise in data governance, KYC/CDD processes, and transaction monitoring systems.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Professional certifications (eg, CAMS, ICA) are desirable for Senior Business Analyst roles.
  • For Business Analyst: 3-5 years' experience in Business Analysis within banking or financial services.
  • Understanding of AML/CFT frameworks and regulatory obligations.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Experience with data analysis and process mapping tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
