Summary: The Alarms System Implementation Specialist will lead the development and execution of a critical alarms management strategy for a key organization in the defense sector. This full-time on-site role involves collaborating with operational experts and senior management to enhance alarm systems, ensuring compliance with safety and legal obligations. The specialist will also provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders while mentoring trainee safety and engineering specialists. The position requires SC clearance and is focused on Major Accident Hazard risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with subject matter experts to understand and enhance the organisation’s alarm systems in line with Relevant Good Practice (RGP).
  • Lead the design and implementation of alarm system strategies that enable early fault detection and appropriate response across the site.
  • Guide the development of new alarm policies, procedures, and technical standards to support the management of MAH risks.
  • Assess and support the ongoing technical design, monitoring, and performance evaluation of alarm systems.
  • Design and deliver training programmes and awareness campaigns focused on alarm system usage and compliance.
  • Support and mentor trainee safety and engineering specialists.
  • Act as a key adviser to the on-site engineering team regarding protocols, system integration, and technical challenges related to alarm systems.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in the implementation and operation of alarm systems such as Trend, Vista, Schneider (EcoStruxure), and Sauter Systems.
  • Previous experience working with alarm systems within a large-scale organisation.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with on-site engineering teams to define and apply system protocols.
  • Background in programme management (desirable).
  • Previous electrical engineering experience (desirable).

About the Role: Our client , a key organisation in the defence sector , is seeking an experienced Alarms System Implementation Specialist to lead the development and execution of a critical alarms management strategy. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the organisation meets its safety, legal, and compliance obligations , particularly in relation to Major Accident Hazard (MAH) risk mitigation. You will collaborate with operational subject matter experts and senior management to implement a robust alarms policy, enhance system performance, and provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders.
