Summary: We are currently seeking Skilled Aircraft Fitters to join a leading aerospace manufacturer in Filton. This role involves working on the assembly of both commercial and military aircraft, focusing on high-precision fitting tasks. The position is full-time and ongoing, requiring a commitment to quality and safety in a production environment. Candidates must have relevant experience and qualifications in engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and work from detailed engineering instructions and technical drawings
- Complete assembly and fitting tasks to the required quality and production standards
- Use various hand and power tools for drilling, sealing, shimming, and other fitting operations
- Perform high-precision work with a strong focus on quality and safety
- Obtain 1st party certification following successful completion of internal training
- Work in confined spaces (including inside wings) and at heights as required
- Assemble components for military aircraft, including the A400M
Key Skills:
- Proven experience using hand and power tools in a fitter or assembly operator role
- Comfortable working at height and within confined spaces
- Must pass a pre-employment medical and obtain BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship within an engineering discipline (e.g., sheet metal work, aircraft or maintenance technician, toolmaker, fitter/turner)
- Hold NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 (or equivalent qualifications) in a relevant engineering field

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established production team working on the assembly of both commercial and military aircraft. You will be supporting the Build Production section, responsible for high-precision fitting tasks on large aircraft assemblies.
Location: Filton, UK
Contract Type: Full-time, Ongoing - onsite
Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday, 6:30am - 3:45pm
12-month contract
