Summary: The Mechanical Aircraft Supervisor will join the Forward Support Team at RNAS Yeovilton on a permanent basis, responsible for overseeing aircraft maintenance and supervising technicians and apprentices. The role requires maintaining technical currency, adhering to established procedures, and participating in aircraft recovery operations. The position also involves ensuring compliance with documentation and tool control procedures while preparing aircraft for transportation as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hold authorisations to the minimum level required by WMS, including second signature within own trade group.
- Maintain technical currency and authorisation through training and disseminated information.
- Perform aircraft maintenance as tasked by Controllers in accordance with published Procedures and Instructions.
- Complete GOLDesp procedures in line with Wildcat Maintenance Support publications.
- Observe authorised tool control procedures during maintenance work.
- Supervise Technicians and Apprentices.
- Operate and maintain AGE and Hangar facilities as directed.
- Prepare aircraft for road or air transportation if required.
- Participate in exercise detachments and aircraft recovery operations.
- Carry out independent inspections where authorised.
- Perform any other aircraft or aircraft support related tasks as directed by the Manager.
Key Skills:
- Aeronautical engineering apprenticeship or Service equivalent Trade Training.
- Thorough knowledge of UK Military Aircraft documentation procedures.
- Current and competent in the use of GOLDesp.
- Meet the criteria specified in WMS OP 1103.
