Summary: The Senior AI Technical Architect role focuses on leading the design and implementation of AI solutions using Microsoft Azure's Cognitive Services for a public sector client. The position requires deep technical expertise in Python, C#, React, and the Azure AI ecosystem to deliver proof-of-concept projects aimed at enhancing document intelligence and multilingual capabilities. The architect will also mentor developers and ensure compliance with ethical AI standards. This hybrid role offers an initial contract of 6-12 months with potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and implement scalable AI solutions using Azure AI Services, including Azure AI Document Intelligence, Azure AI Speech, Azure AI Translator, and Azure AI Search.
- Lead technical PoCs for multilingual speech transcription and translation, intelligent document parsing and metadata extraction, and cognitive search across structured and unstructured documents.
- Collaborate closely with product owners, analysts, and data governance stakeholders.
- Set architecture patterns, API contracts, and integration approaches with existing systems.
- Mentor developers and provide technical leadership across the AI portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with accessibility, legal and ethical AI standards in public sector settings.
Key Skills:
- Proven track record designing AI/ML solutions with Azure Cognitive Services.
- Strong hands-on experience in Python (data workflows, Azure SDKs), C#/.NET (integration with enterprise systems), and React (frontend POC/demo apps).
- Deep understanding of RESTful API design & consumption, Azure AI service orchestration & pipelines, Cognitive Search (keyword, semantic & hybrid modes), OCR, key-value pair extraction, and document layout analysis.
- Experience building or deploying speech transcription pipelines, document intelligence models, and multilingual translation solutions.
- Familiarity with Azure OpenAI Service, Azure Content Safety and governance policies, and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of court or legal systems (highly advantageous but not essential).
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
