As AI becomes an increasingly important part of its future, the business is seeking an experienced AI Governance & Responsible AI Consultant to help establish a practical governance framework that enables innovation while protecting the organisation, its people and its intellectual property.
Working closely with senior leadership and a newly established AI Governance Committee, you will help define the organisation's AI strategy, governance framework and best practice.
This is a highly visible assignment where your recommendations will directly influence how AI is adopted across the business.
This is a strategic advisory role rather than a software development or AI engineering position.
You will have a track record of advising senior leadership, influencing stakeholders across multiple business functions and translating complex AI concepts into practical business solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive audit of AI tools and AI usage across the organisation.
- Review existing practices and identify opportunities to strengthen governance and oversight.
- Assess risks relating to data protection, confidentiality, intellectual property, cyber security and regulatory compliance.
- Recommend appropriate AI platforms, governance controls and approval processes.
- Develop an AI governance framework, including an authorised AI tools register.
- Draft practical AI policies, standards and guidance for employees.
- Advise on the responsible adoption of enterprise AI solutions, including Microsoft Copilot where appropriate.
- Facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders and present recommendations to executive leadership.
- Help establish a sustainable AI governance model that balances innovation, productivity and risk management.
Candidate Profile
You will bring demonstrable experience in several of the following areas: AI Governance, Responsible AI, Enterprise AI Strategy, AI Risk Management, AI Compliance, AI Policy Development, AI Adoption and Change Management, Digital or Technology Transformation, Information Governance, Data Governance.
Desirable Experience: Experience with one or more of the following would be advantageous: Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft 365, ISO 42001, NIST AI Risk Management Framework, ISO 27001, GDPR and Data Protection, EU AI Act, Information Security, Technology Governance.
