Summary: The AI Governance Lead role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining AI governance frameworks to ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards. This position requires collaboration across departments to promote responsible AI practices and manage associated risks and policies. The role is contract-based for an initial period of six months and is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement AI governance strategies aligned with organizational goals and regulations
- Translate legal and regulatory requirements into operational governance structures
- Conduct responsible AI assessments and maintain AI inventories
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to integrate governance into compliance processes
- Chair governance focus groups and drive discussions on responsible AI strategies
- Represent the organization in regulatory forums
- Provide expert advice on AI compliance to internal teams and clients
Key Skills:
- Expertise in AI governance, risk management and policy development
- Deep knowledge of data governance principles, GDPR and global AI regulations like EU AI Act
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle complex initiatives
- Excellent communication skills for engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in ethical AI practices, including bias mitigation and fairness assessments
- Familiarity with emerging technologies like generative AI and machine learning applications
- Good understanding of end to end AI model lifecycle management
- Ability to anticipate and mitigate risks in AI systems
- Proficiency in creating training programs to foster ethical AI development across teams
