AI Engineer (Contract) | London | Competitive Day Rate

I'm working with a leading financial services organisation that is looking to hire an experienced AI Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team on a contract basis.

This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI initiatives, developing production-grade solutions that leverage the latest advancements in large language models, agentic AI and intelligent automation.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building AI-powered applications using modern LLMs
• Developing agentic workflows and multi-step AI pipelines
• Building RAG solutions and integrating enterprise data sources
• Working closely with engineers and business stakeholders to deliver AI solutions that solve real-world problems
• Contributing to the evolution of AI engineering best practices within a collaborative development team

Requirements

• Strong Python development
• LLMs (OpenAI, Claude or similar)
• LangChain, LangGraph or similar orchestration frameworks
• Agentic AI and autonomous workflows
• RAG architectures and vector databases
• Azure AI services (or equivalent cloud AI platforms)
• Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD experience would be beneficial
• Previous experience delivering enterprise AI solutions within financial services would be advantageous, although candidates from other complex engineering environments are also encouraged to apply.
