The bridge between an AI Centre of Excellence and the business

A global AI Centre of Excellence can build almost anything. It needs someone who can walk into a business function, work out what's genuinely worth building, and bring back a problem worth solving. That's this role.

This is a shaping role, not delivery. You'll be there before the requirement exists: understanding how a finance, procurement, HR or operations team really works, finding the friction and unmet need, and turning it into a prioritised, credible AI opportunity the CoE can build and the business will back.

What you'll do

• Map how a function works today and find the inefficiency and unmet need people have stopped noticing.
• Turn ambiguous business challenges into sharp problem statements and prioritised use cases, the hardest and most important part of the role.
• Judge where AI, GenAI or automation genuinely creates value, and where it doesn't.
• Facilitate workshops across functions and build business cases that quantify the prize in language executives act on.
• Hand well-shaped use cases to AI architects and delivery teams, staying close to protect the original intent.

What we're looking for: A high bar, be ready to back up what's on your CV.

• Hands-on AI and GenAI experience you can prove, real projects you shaped, not keywords. Expect to walk through them early. Theoretical experience isn't enough.
• Genuine front-of-room consulting skill: you shape the ask and lead the room, not just execute a defined brief.
• Real depth in at least one domain (finance, procurement, marketing, HR, operations). Specialists thrive here; generalists will struggle.
• The presence to hold your own with senior stakeholders and challenge them well, plus strong research and pitch-building instincts.
• 7-10 years in consulting, business analysis, process optimisation or transformation, with a track record of finding the right problem before it was defined.
• A strong plus: experience bridging two organisations (vendor-client, joint venture or matrixed), since this role lives in exactly that space.
