Summary: The Agile Scrum Master role requires a professional with extensive experience in the telecommunications sector, responsible for guiding teams in agile practices and ensuring high-quality deliverables. The position involves organizing scrum events, collaborating with Product Owners, and facilitating communication across teams. The successful candidate will work on-site in Reading once a week and will be engaged in a 6-month contract with potential for extension. This role emphasizes stakeholder management, innovation, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure teams adhere to agile/scrum practices prescribed by the VM DNT Agile Chapter.
- Organize and conduct scrum events, including sprint planning meetings, retrospectives, product demos, and daily scrums.
- Partner with Product Owners to achieve high-quality and timely deliverables based on business value.
- Manage sprint planning and execution, providing visibility into sprint status.
- Participate in roadmap planning and scheduling, providing scrum team statistics and identifying project dependencies.
- Identify and mitigate potential issues and roadblocks to ensure high throughput of development teams.
- Work with stakeholders to prioritize, refine, and detail the product backlog.
- Facilitate issue resolution within the team and safeguard scrum teams from external influences.
- Assist with backlog maintenance and prioritization of defect resolution.
- Coach scrum team members in making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition.
- Create and maintain sprint and product burndowns, velocity metrics, and forecasts.
- Contribute to the rollout of agile methodologies through training and coaching.
- Support and guide scrum and Kanban teams in agile deliveries.
- Collaborate with other agile practitioners to ensure alignment and standardization of practices.
- Liaise with the Product Owner and delivery leads to understand strategic priorities and product roadmaps.
